889 Red Oolong Tea (紅烏龍) is a more heavily fermented oolong tea. It is a newer style of tea from Taiwan. The dry leaf is strikingly beautiful, like dark pearls. The liquor is orange-red color, with exceptional brightness and clarity. The taste is both sweet and smooth. The leaf is well suited for both cold and hot brewing. This oolong by its reddish color seems like a black tea, but the taste is distinctly oolong. Hence the name, red oolong.
