Every leaf we sell has a place, a farmer, and a season behind it. OriginCha exists to bring that story back into the cup.
Most tea on a supermarket shelf has forgotten where it came from. Somewhere between the mountain and the bag, the story gets lost — the region, the harvest, the hands that shaped the leaf.
OriginCha started as a reaction to that erasure. We wanted to drink tea the way it was meant to be understood: by origin. Not "green tea" or "oolong" as a category, but Dragon's Well from a specific hillside in Zhejiang, or Tie Guan Yin shaped by generations of growers in Anxi. The place is the point.
So we built a shop around geography instead of gimmicks — organizing everything by where it grows, because we believe that's the truest way to taste it.
Why Origin Matters
Terroir shapes tea the same way it shapes wine — altitude, soil, and climate leave a fingerprint no blend can fake.
Single Origin, Always
We don't blend away character. Every tea in our catalog is traceable to one region, one harvest, one style of craft.
Small-Batch Sourcing
We work with growers and processors who still do this by hand, at a scale where quality doesn't get diluted.
Season-Aware
Spring flush green teas, autumn oolongs, aged pu-erh — we source with the calendar, not against it.
Honest Detail
Origin, harvest, processing, and brewing notes for every tea — no vague "wellness blend" language.
A Map, Not a Catalog
Our teas come from the regions most associated with the styles that made them famous.
We're still a small operation — a handful of people who taste every tea before it goes on the shelf and would rather carry fewer teas we can vouch for than a wall of anonymous blends.
That means slower growth, and it means saying no to teas that don't have a real story behind them. We think that trade-off is worth it. When you steep something from us, we want you to be able to picture exactly where it grew.
